Hi, I'm Jeni...
...but around here, I go by Nin. That guy in the picture with me is my husband Jim. You should be happy for Jim, because I'm amazing! You should also check on him, because I can be A LOT!
Why Nin?
Aunt Jeni is hard to say, so the littles in my life called me Nin. It has been a name wrapped in love because being a Mom and an Aunt are the things I'm most proud of. So when my first grandchild was born, it just felt right: I would be his Nin.
Being Nin also carries other titles, like Mac-and-Cheese-Bringer, Safe Space, the One Who Shows Up Late...but Always Shows Up, and also the One Who Has No Filter and May Say Something Inappropriate.
But things I most hope they take away from time with Nin are:
- Stand up for yourself when it matters.
- Be kind when it counts.
- Know that success is not about money or appearances.
- Your worth cannot be priced.
- Be confident, not cruel.
- Be honest, not hurtful.
- Be unapologetically proud of who you are.
- Never forget to laugh...even when it's at yourself.
Why NinScents?
NinScents started with a love for candles and a need to find purpose during one of life’s “now what?” seasons. What began as a creative outlet and a way to justify my candle habit quickly became something more meaningful. It felt natural to build a candle brand that carried the same Nin energy I bring to real life: warmth, honesty, kindness, and a little fun woven into the everyday.
Why Candles?
Candles have always been my reset button. They are a quick escape, a mood shift, a small moment of calm in a jar. Now, I get to pour that experience into every hand-poured candle I make and share it in a way that feels personal and relatable. Each NinScents candle is hand-poured in my 12x12 studio, fueled by caffeine, chaos, and the belief that a good home fragrance can genuinely make a bad day better.
NinScents is more than candles. It is a love letter to the littles who are growing into beautiful bigs, and to the newest little who brings me so much joy. It is also my hope that these candles find their way into your home and bring you a little light, a little warmth, and a reason to smile—because sometimes comfort really does come in the form of a great scent.
